Judging by their site, this is clearly a campaign that hasn't garnered much attention so far, but it's a neat idea. I read about it on the TAPA blog. Perhaps it is something that should continue beyond the holiday season? The idea is for everyone who attends a live performance in the month of December to film the audience applauding the performers, beginning with the stage and panning out to include everyone. These videos should be about 15 seconds or so long--easily done on a phone or digital camera. They can then be uploaded to the campaign's group on YouTube. The idea is that "ordinary Canadians" are out celebrating and appreciating the gift of culture.
I know there are more videos on YouTube on the subject--so that is my holiday challenge. How many more can we add? Either in the format described by this campaign or in our own? Let's get creative. After all, "to be creative is, in fact, Canadian."
